Yes it will.
What about us here in down under ? i hope shipping is coming form US , I got early Access back in Dec 2024 … I really hope the early access ppl get priority on any shipping ..
You are correct. Shipping to Aus is direct from the US factory and Early Access orders will be the first to ship.
QNA - I currently use Authy for 2FA. I do like the idea that I can create a backup code and have one duplcated the app on my pad, and if in the event I lose, damage, or phone is stolen I would be able to download the app and reactivate all my 2FA’s right away. The one thing I do NOT like on the Authy app is that I am unable to sort the list of 2FA’s. As the list has grown quite large this does require a bit a scrolling to find what I am looking for. With that said, will Prime have a means to create a backup to reproduce the 2FA’s and would be reproducable on any other device other than prime? and will we be able to sort the list of 2FA’s? Thank you
Hey mate,
Sorting - Yes this will be available at launch by alphabetical, date added or custom.
Reproducible backups - Not for launch, but something we can add in, I’d imagine.
Don’t forget with the backups though, all the device metadata (including 2FAs) is part of the encrypted backup. For default users this is automatically stored as an encrypted blob on the Foundation server, and for manual users it’s just an encrypted file that you can save wherever you like.
Hope that answers your question!
Sorry for being an idiot, but what is the difference between a default user and a manual user? So if the former, the data is always current and backed up and ready to re-install? I would assume the later the back up is as current as the last manual back up? SO in the event of a theft, or device is damaged or lost you could only access the authenticator by reinstalling it and restoring the back up on a new Prime?
That’s a correct statement for how it will work at launch, yes.
- ‘Default’ user = Someone who takes the simple onboarding path and leverages magic backups for Prime.
- ‘Manual’ user = Someone that opts out of using this free service and chooses to look after their backups offline, on their own.
Yo how about an update? At least tell us we will receive prime in the new year.
Merry Christmas guys ![]()
Good day. Any shipping updates ?
We are still working through final provisioning at the factory before we begin shipping early access units. When taking into account the upcoming Christmas and NY break, Early Access units will likely now begin shipping the first week of Jan.
Sad face emoji…
Timeline of communicated Prime ship targets (and pushes)
- End of March 2025 (original estimate)
Foundation’s FAQ said Early Access units were estimated to ship at the end of March 2025. Foundation Docs - Late April 2025 (push #1)
On March 13, 2025, Foundation replied that Early Access devices would begin shipping in late April. Foundation Community - “Over the next 3 weeks” from May 7 (push #2)
On May 7, 2025, Foundation posted they expected remaining components to arrive over the next 3 weeks, and then they’d be able to assemble and ship the 1,000 Early Access orders (effectively shifting expectations into late May / early June). Foundation Community - “Three weeks from today” from June 5 (push #3)
On June 5, 2025, Foundation said they expected to begin assembling and shipping Early Access orders three weeks from that date (≈ late June). Foundation Community - Week after July 24 (push #4)
On July 2, 2025, Foundation gave a more specific schedule: assembly July 17, provisioning July 24, and shipping planned to begin the following week (≈ late July). Foundation Community - No firm date as of July 31 (push #5)
On July 31, 2025, Foundation confirmed Prime hadn’t shipped yet, was delayed, and they didn’t have a firm date (promising more detail in early August). Foundation Community
Count: how many times did they push the shipping date?
Based on these public statements, Foundation pushed Prime’s shipping expectation at least 5 times (from end of March → late April → late May/early June → late June → late July → then “delayed/no firm date”)
Yeah I agree @foundation this is starting to become insulting in terms of the timeline because i get that things happen and timelines need to be pushed back but at this point its becoming ridiculous. Not sure Im willing to continue to wait indefinitely for the item to be shipped. I orderd mine early at the very beginning of the yr. (around feb/march dont remem.) So from my perspective, either were not being told things in-reguards to your manufacturing/software process or something is up. It isnt christmas and new yr’s fault why you can’t get the devices out that honestly just feels like a convinent excuse. I really hope the team will have some very good news with proof that come the very start of the new yr items are ready to be shipped…
Completely understand the frustrations folks. Believe me, we want Prime out the door just as much as you guys do!
The main issue for the past few weeks has been waiting for the final stages of the software to be in a position that we can begin provisioning devices. We’ve had some of the team at the factory every day for the past few days doing test board provisioning. This process has thrown up a number of completely unexpected hurdles that we are continuing to work through.
We are hopeful the team can squash the final few of those bugs over the next few business days, with a view to being provisioning boards on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Frustrating, most certainly. Understandable, again, most certainly.
I think the disconnect starts at the top, when the device was first announced. I didn’t hear about it til the beginning of February and the language used on your website (or possibly lack thereof) gave me the impression that these devices were ready to go. I had to do some serious rearranging of funds to get that kind of cash up so I could jump on board. I’m on a fixed budget and never have that kind of disposable cash available.
So, naturally, when the first major delay was announced I was a bit confused, saying nothing about the erosion of trust with a company I knew nothing about prior to this, so that was a really bad way to start a relationship.
Then as the months ticked by, what little bit of trust I had left, along with my patience and understanding, were put under major strain. This was about the point I started to get a bit nasty.
A bit more time went by and eventually the CTO( I think)dropped an update about the struggles and unforeseen difficulties of creating this new product from scratch. This was the point where I felt a bit ashamed for my earlier reaction, understanding that you guys truly care about your customers and by extension, your company, so you are doing everything possible to offer the very best product you could.
If I am being completely honest, If there was anything even remotely close to this already available, I would’ve asked for my money back and went about purchasing the alternative. I’m fairly new to bitcoin and always felt like I was behind the pack in regards to what I knew about BTC. So, when I first heard about this product, it made me feel like if I could grab something that only a few(relatively)people had, I would feel like I was ahead of the curve rather than struggling at the bottom.
Fast forward to this month, people are really feeling the strain of the holidays, especially since we have someone who has had more bankruptcies than I can count on one hand, in charge of our economy and I think people are just really looking for a win after being on the losing end for the past year.
TL;DR There are numerous reasons why people are upset and they are all understandable, and at a time when we are fed bad news on a daily basis, we are desperately grasping for anything good to be happy about.
This was announced too early, and took pre-orders waaaay too early. Nonetheless, look forward to it. Can’t blame the team, leadership is at fault here.
IMO if you guys are in crypto you guys know what you signed up for.
For reference, I preordered the Ledger Stax on Day1 it was announced and I think it took 2-3 years to get it. Albeit I was one of the first to get it when others were complaining it took months to get them.
Glad the team is in the home stretch and hope we’ll see some movement in the new year hopefully by end of Q1 the devices will be in the early access folks hands.
Keep up the good work team and looking forward to the Prime ![]()

Appreciate the support guys. It’s been a long old road, but we really are building something special here. The wait will be worth it!
But with that said, if anyone gets to the point where they are not comfortable with any delays, just respond to your order confirmation email and we can provide a full refund. We are not in the business of holding peoples money hostage.
So what’s the current ETA for US - customers? Is it still January 2026? Or are we still open-ended?
