Passport Prime shipping dates

We’re approaching the end of June. Any updates on shipping the new Prime units? I will be leaving the States fir 8 months in the middle of July and I’m wondering if I can count on receiving my unit before then.

Should be able to share some more concrete info by the end of the week.

Hi, any news regarding the Prime shipments? Appreciate any clarity at this point.

Hey, we’ll be sending an email (and posting here) later today or tomorrow with an update for you.

Hi, I didn’t receive that email, could you send again? Also are there any further production/shipping updates?

Details can be found here. No further updates at this time.

If you DM me your email I can send a copy of the email again if you like.

Hi, I was just wondering if there are any updates regarding Passport Prime shipments. The last official communication mentioned that provisioning would begin on July 24 and shipping the following week.

I’ve seen that Passport Core units have already started shipping, which makes me curious about the current status of the Prime.

Thank you in advance!

Hello there!

Indeed Passport Prime hasn’t shipped yet and is currently delayed. While I don’t have a firm date to share just yet, I’m expecting we’ll be providing a more detailed update in early August as part of our regular monthly updates here. I certainly appreciate your patience and support as we work through the final steps together.

Thank you for the update.
I have to admit this is quite disappointing after months of waiting and multiple delays. I understand that issues can happen, but for a product that’s all about trust, the uncertainty is discouraging. I really hope there will be clear news soon. That said, I’m still very excited about the product and really looking forward to receiving it.

I initially felt the exact same way as you do, then I took a step back, composed myself and put it in its proper perspective. I have no doubt that the delays they are suffering are from having everything shipped back to America to be built by Americans and not some Chinese people working in a sweat shop.

That in and of itself is a pretty big task, add to it the complexities that our elected felon has added to the mix via his asinine tariffs. If I understood correctly, foundation is eating the cost instead of passing it into us. Who else would do that?

As I said, I had a not so nice post to them I sent on Nostr, but upon taking all of this into account, I actually felt quite ashamed for saying it now.

It can be frustrating, but I have no doubt that it will be well worth the wait once we get our hands on them.

Cheers.:clinking_beer_mugs:

Thank you so much for your encouraging words!
I completely understand, and I had a feeling that something like this was behind the delays.
I’m genuinely super excited and can’t wait to finally hold it in my hands(honestly, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.)!

I agree with you somewhat. Where they are making a mistake is continualy promising unachievable ship dates. Over promising & under delivering is what pisses off customers.

Honestly I only recall hearing one or two shipping dates. As I said in my comment above, I felt the same way as y’all did, then I stepped back and looked at it from a different angle.

This product is brand new, the team seems to be taking a very hands on approach, not just turning it over to a third party to churn out a quick thousand. It also sounded like they had to find an establishment big enough but within their budget to create this new product. They literally started from the ground up.

They probably could’ve saved some time if the parts weren’t held up in customs so I can’t really blame that on them either.

Again, I’m not necessarily disagreeing as I left a pretty nasty note on Nostr, but I have had time to step back and take in the big picture.

I see us receiving a product that is American made, by people who truly care about their products and customers.

For the record, when I first ordered one in February, I thought they were already made and they were just waiting to sell 1000 to push out the first edition. So, you could say that maybe things could’ve been worded differently, but at the end of the day, I still see a company trying to break the mold of how traditional electronics are manufactured and distributed.

6 months from now, no one will even care how long the first batch took because they will have worked out the kinks and I have no doubt those customers will be praising them for the stance they have taken.

They could’ve easily had these built and shipped from china by god knows who and you would have already had your hands on one. I am grateful that is not the way they chose to go.

Our elected felon doesn’t seem to realize that we are predominantly a capitalist country, which is why everyone moved their production out of this country, there’s nothing wrong with that. He says iPhones should be made here, that tells me he has no clue WTF he’s talking about.

TL;DR I have no doubt it will be worth the wait. Cheers :clinking_beer_mugs:

I agree this company cares about their products and customers. The reason I pre-ordered the Prime is the great reviews about Core and listening to Zack on podcasts explaining the product. Foundation has always replied promptly to my messages. However to me this is starting to look like what most software gaming companies do, announce a release date and keep pushing it. I travel a lot for work and I am always concerned about delivery dates. I might be over reacting but I feel I have a reason to be disappointed.

I completely agree and you certainly do have a reason to be disappointed. Being on the road can definitely play hell with your plans if you are expecting something delivered by a certain date and it doesn’t come through.

Let’s face it, we are all living in some crazy times so any sort of normalcy is welcome. And it’s not like they haven’t kept us posted, we get an update usually every week, sometimes it’s good news sometimes not, but at least they are communicating with us

I did not know they had a podcast but wouldn’t mind checking it out if you have a link. I’ve been really impressed with their customer service and this product looks like a game changer. Hopefully we will all have some nice things to say about the prime in the coming weeks. Cheers :clinking_beer_mugs:

I just watched it a few minutes ago. Thank you for giving us some insight into how the production process is handled. Admittedly it is a lot more intricate than I could’ve ever imagined and I certainly appreciate y’all’s approach to creating the best product you can, it makes my earlier, not so nice, comment seem that much more embarrassing. :man_facepalming:t2:

While I am certainly opinionated, as your customer spokesperson realized(), I am also very passionate about my tech. Some people have kids, I would prefer tech, not that that that is an excuse but trying to give a little insight into my behavior. I am also a Leo and from Boston, so that should tell you all you need to know. :man_shrugging:t2:

In closing, I just want to reiterate my apologies for earlier comments and I am really looking forward to working with y’all for years to come.
