Multisig

Hey I been looking at the passport prime & it’s really advanced & different from all the HWW I seen & tested & I loved the video of it also your whole digital life on one device & my only question is how would multisig work on the passport prime let’s say I get 3 passport prime & want to do a 3 of 3 multisig how would I go about doing that is it different on the passport prime ? & also all the features passport prime have to offer literally what I been looking for a while now

Hey, glad you’re loving Prime, we are working hard to meet the shipping deadline!

At launch, Multisig would work in a very similar way to the current gen Passport. You’d need to coordinate those devices in a piece of software like Sparrow, Nunchuk or BlueWallet etc.

At some point in the future we’ll of course allow you to do this within Envoy and leverage all of the extra exciting features we have planned, but this will take some time.

Great ok thanks ! & one more question when traveling passport prime should pass no problem right?

Of course that’s not something I could give a definitive answer to, but recovery with NFC and Envoy + will be so damn simple, you could easily just wipe the device to go through customs, then recover in seconds when you get to your final destination. All you’d need to do here is travel with one of your NFC cards as well as the device.

Why isnt there a microsd slot in prime?, is it just to get water proofing? psbt+ microsd should have been of bigger importance right?

We have favored easier connectivity options with Prime. QR codes, NFC and Quantum Link Bluetooth. You can still use a microSD via a USB-C adapter if you like.

1.will passport prime support microsd +psbt multisig signing right off the bat
with the initial firmware release?,
2. http://thebitcoinhole.com is this amazing hardware wallet comparision tool, It says no bitcoin only firmware supported , is it true? do you plan to add option to enable bitcoin only firmware in the future?whilst retaining u2f, encrypted storage etc?

  1. Yes, but there is no microSD slot, so you’ll need to use an adapter.
  2. The firmware already meets your criteria. We ship with Bitcoin and U2F, storage etc. Aside from those core apps, the firmware runs the apps you tell it to.

Thanks,

  1. firstly excellent design choice,!we can always by a 3 dollar adapter and get the job done, but water proofing is useful and faulty inbuilt microsd adapters are always problematic!
  2. so attack surface is probably as less as trezor(bitcoin only firmware) except prime has 50g storage,!,
  3. would you say attack surface of prime without shitcoin apps installed is as much as any other hardware wallet with btc only firmware right?
  1. Will prime support Sparrow, nunchuk multisig right off the bat?, or should I be waiting for updates?
  2. will it also give options like “offer import” ", “verify only” to choose from? that way psbt only with pre configured multisig will be allowed for signature?
  1. Yes
  2. Yes

Can’t wait for the official documentation, so that I can bother you guys less lol!
