About a year or two ago back on Foundation’s telegram channel it was announced that Envoy would use in some way shape or form the lightning network. Have not heard anything since, so is it safe to assume the idea has been scrapped, or is it still being implemented and planed to be released at a later date?
Very much the latter. We still plan on doing it, but work won’t start until Prime is shipped and the app catalog has increased in size.
“App catalog”, I don’t think that has fully sunk in yet.
Would there be a way to create a non-KYC exchange app that would allow you to circumvent Google/Apple fees?
Yes. Robosats and Peach etc already exist as proof.
I meant on the prime. I’m not sure if it’s possible to do everything on the prime while also keeping it secure, but that would be pretty slick if it could
It would still need to communicate with a device that is connected to the internet (a phone)
Yeah, I figured. Could you use that quantum
Bluetooth thingy? If not, maybe the next piece of hardware y’all could work on would be an encrypted, portable hotspot?
Example: say you’re on public WiFi but you don’t want to pay for a vpn, you could use the hotspot as the middleman, if you will. The hotspot would connect to the public WiFi and your device would connect to the hotspot.
