The horse has left the barn, but I still don’t want Foundation to hold my data anymore. I don’t want to email them about it, because that would give them my email address, which is the only thing I managed to not give them (used a disposable address when I ordered).
Is there any way I can contact them without using email, to request for my data to be removed, both from their own servers and any external services they have copied my information to? I want a whole process, including a confirmation from them that my data (and specifically my data) has actually been removed.
Is there a web chat or similar that I can use? Can we handle it through this forum? Thanks in advance.
“Requests to delete personal data and confirm removal are handled through our privacy request process. You can submit this by emailing hello@foundation.xyz and asking for a data‑deletion request. Identity verification may be required before the request is processed.”
I don’t want to do it by email because I don’t want to give you my email address, and at this point I definitely don’t want to verify my identity in order to initiate the process.
It also offers me a snail mail address, is that really the only alternative for me? I wouldn’t want to include my return address there, since the whole point is for you to no longer have that kind of information.
Summary: Older order data in WooCommerce was deleted today. They weren’t sure if there are long-lived backups they haven’t taken care of, but the ongoing investigation should uncover this. The same would be true for any third-party services they may have uploaded copies of our data to, such as Mailgun. I also got myself removed from the newsletter (the unsubscribe link in the emails I have received don’t work).
