Hi, I tried updating my foundation passport core from version 2.3.5 to 2.3.8 by manually copying the new bin file onto a microsd card. On passport, i verified the SHA256 sum matched d93385c63b50539813735c758e4f4fbd1f9254faae018ce3dd33f10508abc1c5.
That file looks right, and you got the hash correctly as well. It seems to me like this can be a read/write error. It is weird that Passport correctly displays the hash of the file though, that would mean the file has been correctly copied into the microSD card.
Did you try removing and reinserting the microSD card? Did you try with another microSD card?
Another possibility is that you didn’t safely remve the microSD from the computer, and so it has been locked into read only mode, preventing passport from using it for the upgrade. We have seen this happen before, so another possible test would be to try and put it back into a comuter, and safely eject the microSD before putting it back into Passport
I am having the exact same problem but with version 2.3.9. I see all the previous firmware versions on it. I always safely eject my USB drives. The hash is fine. Something else is going on here… I guess I’ll go find another MicroSD card (even though this is the one provided with my Passport.) Between this and the bug I just encountered requiring me to re-download Envoy, I’ve not been particularly pleased with this very expensive “premium” device.
I can’t find another unused MicroSD card to use. I reformatted this one, copied the file again, and I’m still getting the same error. I’m using Windows 11, formatted FAT32 (like it was before.) There isn’t a single other file on the card and it’s still not working. Any ideas? I guess I’ll try a “long” format (not quick?) I scanned the drive for errors/to repair and it found none.
Holy smokes man, no luck after a long format either. I just noticed that the Passport itself has a “format” function so I guess I’ll try that. Maybe the SD card (and Passport) hate Windows. I do too, so I get it.
