2FA App does not seem to work properly after update to 1.2.1

Since the latest update I cannot add further 2FA accounts, because scanner is giving an error message about not recognizing the qr code‘s secret. Everything worked fine before the backup, I tried installing different 2FA, codes, it did not work as before. So is there an issue with the new firmware? Using iPhone 15 pro max, connected with envoy, btw BTC price does not show anymore as well.Thanks and best Paulo

Hey Paulo,

Are you using the exact same service that you know worked before the update, or are you trying to add a 2FA code from somewhere else? The names of the services that don’t work would be very useful for us to try and replicate.

About the loading screen, yes this is known and we are working on a fix.

Dear QnA, thanks for taking care. I tried to add two new services to my app. The first two ones I added under the old firmware are still working well and change code every 60 secs.

The new services I wanted to add under the new firmware are STRATO webhosting, client account 2FA access and Lufthansa Miles&More Client account 2FA access .

Hi Paulo - sorry if this sound slike a silly question, but I just want to clarify, the same two 2FAs that work on 1.2.0 are the ones that don’t work on 1.2.1? That is to say, you can add the Lufthansa and the STRATO 2FA codes to 1.2.0? Or are the ones you paired to 1.2.0 different?

No. The ones that already work are different ones, added under 1.20 ,later , under 1.21 I was trying to add Lufthansa and STRATO additionally to the already working two other apps,added under 1.20.

thanks for clarifying! so it’s possible that we were just unlucky enough that you imported two QRs that are compatible with passport prime when you were in 1.2.0 and then happened to scan two that were never compatible with passport prime, and this happened after the upgrade to 1.2.1. If they were the same wQR codes we would know for a fact there’s something wrong with prime, but them being different begs a broader approach.

What was the exact method of failure? Did you get a “Secret is invalid” or similar? Or did the scanner just not pick up the QRs?

I hope this is the right place to post but my 2FA codes app is not working. When I scan a QR it does create a new code but the codes that it displays are not correct. I tried with adding the same 2FA secret to Yubikey and it worked perfectly. What could be the cause of this?

Could you please let us know the service(s) that your 6 digit 2FA codes are not working for?

All of the ones I have tried. It generates a different 6 digit code than the Yubikey does after scanning the same QR.

My guess is that the time setting on your Prime might be slightly off. Do you have it ‘Set by Envoy’ in the Prime settings page?
