Real risk or just paranoid?

Support Request Template - If you are seeking support, try to answer the following questions when creating your topic. It will vastly improve the speed at which someone can help. If you do not require support, delete this text and create your own topic intro.

  • What are you trying to achieve?
I want to know if my device might be hacked or at risk, or if I’m just being paranoid.
  • What steps are you taking to try and achieve this?
I followed the instructions in the introductory videos.
  • What are you seeing or experiencing to suggest that something is wrong?
  1. When I bought the device, it was sent to me via UPS. However, the package was misrouted. The message delivered by UPS said: “We’ve misrouted the package. This may cause a delay. Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day.” Apparently, the package had been sent to Brazil.
  2. Once I had the device in my hands, I followed the instructions up to the part where I had to update the firmware using the microSD included in the package. However, the upload stopped at around 75%. I asked in the help chat and they told me to buy another microSD, which I did, and it worked.
  • What firmware version is your Passport running?
When I finally could update the firmware, it got to version 2.3.1, May 24, 2024 (and still is)
  • Which wallet software are you using in conjunction with Passport?
    None for now.

Hi,

So long as there was no clear evidence of physical device tampering and the device passed the security check during onboarding, then you don’t have anything to worry about.

In terms of the firmware updates, you can go straight to the latest, you don’t need to do them all in order.

Onboarding?

The flow you go through to set up the device.

Got it. Yes, there was no problem (just the original microSD stopping at upload)
Thank you very much
