Hi, coming from the passport core I had a few specific questions before I pick up the prime:
- I understand that you are fast tracking manual initialisation/ updates without envoy (which Is how I intend to use the prime), firstly will this work if i purchase now and don’t open the box until you release this feature or would i need to initialize first with envoy, update and erase to get this capability (since I assume that current devices don’t have this capability). Also will this initial release also include the firmware without and bluetooth drivers and bitcoin only firmware?
- Will/ does the prime’s software have repro builds, I like to verify all bitcoin software builds properly myself before use (proof: Reproducibility in action ) - Probably need to introduce AI verification into my workflow now lol
- Does the prime currently lack any bitcoin functionality that the core has. The main feature i’m looking for are multi sig descriptor imports + multisig address verification and exploration.
- I believe i heard somewhere that Zach said that the passport would be implementing something similar to blockstream’s anti exfil or bitbox’s anti klepto. My question is when would this be implemented and how. To my knowledge, anti exfil only works when you use the jade over bluetooth or USB with blockstreams own application. The bitbox uses HWI comms and anti klepto works even when signing with 3rd party coordinators like sparrow. So how would this look like in the prime? i’d like to see it be compatible with sparrow, even if that meant needing to bridge the airgap with USB.
- Edit: Do you typically build on the keyos repo in private and dump a single commit with a fat diff each release? In the passport2 repo you built more in the open and it was easier for a pleb like me to follow.
